Dutch Design Week (DDW) is one of the world’s most significant design events. It is the place to showcase your work to a broad and international audience. Each year, DDW attracts a vast following: design enthusiasts, buyers, curators, businesses, government institutions, and colleagues.

How can I participate?

You can participate in DDW by responding to our Call for Entries. 
Please create a My DDW account and complete the application form there. For alternative ways of application, please feel free to contact us.

What does the application process look like?

Step 1.
Submit your project. Create a My DDW account and fill out the application form by going to “Project” on the left side of your screen, and clicking on “create new project”. Before you send in your application, read the participation terms carefully.

Step 2.
We'll review your application. If your project is approved, congratulations! Proceed to Step 3.

Step 3.
We'll send you an offer to sign digitally. After signing the offer, you will receive a payment link. Please pay the participation fee to be able to continue to the next step.

Step 4.
As a Dutch Design Week participant, you are responsible for finding and contacting a suitable location yourself. Read more about finding a location that suits your project here, or contact the locations we have recommended. If you have any questions regarding the locations, please contact our location manager.

Step 5.
Once you have found a location to exhibit and the location has confirmed it, please inform us of your exhibition location through your My DDW account.

Step 6.
Once we’ve approved and processed your location, please complete the information form for the printed map on your My DDW account. The deadline for this is on Friday, 7 August 2026.

Step 7.
Time to finalise the process! Fill in and submit your project information in your My DDW account. The visitors will see this information on our website. This is the final and most important step for your participation in Dutch Design Week 2026.

Who can participate?

All designers, regardless of their background. As an event, DDW aims to provide a broad perspective on the design field while realistically reflecting what is happening in society. Diversity and multiple voices are very important to us. We specifically encourage collaborations between designers, businesses, industries, scientists, policymakers, and knowledge institutions to apply.

What are the requirements for my project?

  • You can apply with projects that meet the following criteria:
  • The project aligns with our vision of design:
  • We look ahead because we believe that designers shape our future by collaborating across different design disciplines. Your design talent is expressed in a creative, artistic, speculative, or innovative way. You work from an individual or societal perspective, creating designs that are either conceptual or tangible.
  • Your project was conceived, developed, or created in the past year and has not been presented in this way at DDW before.
  • Your work demonstrates professional design quality.
  • The project is original and distinctive in both idea and execution.
  • The design is innovative or adds something new to existing ideas.
  • Your work is relevant to the current zeitgeist.
    The project is ready for professional presentation.
