Avans District 2035

What will our society look like in 2035? During Dutch Design Week, Avans University of Applied Sciences invites you to explore Avans District 2035 – an interactive neighbourhood of the future where societal challenges become tangible, and research forms the foundation for a more sustainable world.

Research as a driver of change

In Avans District 2035 we showcase our practice-based research – carried out by researchers, students, lecturers, and partners from the professional field. Key themes such as health and well-being, energy transition, safety, and future-oriented education are all addressed, with one shared ambition: contributing to a more sustainable world. Avans is not only an educational institution but also a knowledge partner creating real social impact.

Walk through the neighbourhood of the future

What will entrepreneurship of the future look like? What role does art play in innovation? And how can circular materials help us build a more sustainable economy? Each neighbourhood offers a unique experience – from prototypes to discussions and games – with societal impact at its core. Education also adapts: how do we prepare students for a future we cannot yet fully imagine?

Experience it yourself and join the conversation!

Visit Avans District 2035, get inspired, and engage with us. Together we explore how to tackle tomorrow’s challenges and co-create ideas that truly make a difference.
