Experience lighting and sound helping you to ground yourself and breathe consciously.
Today’s society is shaped to let us escape our feelings and pains.
We spend hours gazing at our phones, indulging in social media, losing ourselves in travel, shopping, and endless events.
But in this constant preoccupation with the external, we forget the internal.
We are living through a silent health crisis of the psyche.
My work aims to design for the inner world —
to invite us back Into the Body, away from the mind.
I create spaces that help us sense, process, and integrate what is happening inside, weaving this into our everyday habitat.
For Design Week, I present a mini-version of TRANSPHERE — an immersive experience that transforms the overlooked moments of waiting in metro stations into an opportunity for reflection and reconnection.
About Rombout Frieling lab
Away from thinking. Into feeling.
I current focus is on embracing (public) waiting time and transforming this into moments of healing.
I work mainly on train and bus stations, yet I am eager to explore other contexts especially in the healthcare sector.
My lab is based in 'The Body Building', one of the first bio-based buildings in the Netherlands, self-built.
