Red Box

Red Box is a programme that brings together designers and organisations who use empathetic and thoughtful design to strengthen the position of women.

The programme highlights how good design can contribute to a more inclusive world by revealing and reconsidering the everyday impact of design choices on women. At Area51, StrijpS, Red Box presents an exhibition and public program exploring how design can strengthen the position of women in society.

Red Box

Everyday design often reflects male-centered norms, affecting women’s safety, health, and visibility. Red Box shows how design can challenge these structures and open new perspectives for a more inclusive future.

The exhibition features work by several designers, artists, and organizations, complemented by workshops, talks, film screenings, and networking events. Themes such as Health & Sexual Autonomy, Space & Power, Work & Commons, Image, Language & Products, and Identity & Intersectionality are explored through a diverse and engaging program.

Red Box demonstrates how design can drive awareness and structural change, inviting visitors to actively participate and reflect.

Stoov is the main sponsor of Red Box, bringing its expertise in innovative heating products. Stoov invites visitors to Red Box to explore what comfort means, with a focus on the female body. Interactive Warmables demonstrate how warmth can support wellbeing, relaxation, and inclusion.
