The House on Tour

Metlery is a collective of 15 students and graduates from the HAWK university in Hildesheim. We create jewelry and objects, working together with care and sustainable methods. Our focus is on sharing, questioning, and giving space to diverse artistic voices.

How We Started

Metlery is a collective formed by students and graduates of HAWK University in Hildesheim. After our exhibition Mehrbettzimmer at Galerie Marzee in 2024, where we built a “house” to show our pieces, we decided to continue working together and to take this house on tour. We believe that collaboration, rather than competition, opens new ways of working and thinking collectively.

Working Together

What connects us is not a single style or approach, but the conviction that many perspectives should have space. Each member contributes different experiences and methods, and through dialogue and exchange we create possibilities that go beyond individual work. We see value in learning from each other and from supporting one another.

Our Display System

Our display system, made of steel tubes and canvas, reflects this mindset. Flexible and reusable, it adapts to different exhibitions and allows the works to be seen both individually and as part of a collective. For us, showing jewelry is not only about the objects themselves, but about how we present them, how we collaborate, and how we care for each other and our environment.

About Metlery x HiSchmuck

This collective began as the building team for Hang Out for a Quiet Moment at Galerie Marzee in 2024. Using the same materials, we created Fall Into Place at BKV in Munich. In 2025, we built a “house” with them again for Mehrbettzimmer at Galerie Marzee. As the team remained almost the same, we decided to continue as a collective. New members later joined, and together we took the house on tour, keeping collaboration at the core of our practice.
