In 2026, HEMA will be 100 years old. We are celebrating with a special design competition. Are you a student or a recent graduate? Then we challenge you to come up with a solution to an everyday problem.
From mundane problem to brilliant design.
For a century, HEMA has set the tone in design. From a bicycle candle for those who couldn't afford a dynamo to a hot dog that doesn't leak. Our designers come up with everything themselves. With 25 designers, we work every day on solutions that make everyday life more practical, beautiful and better.
In 1983, we organised our first design competition. A true HEMA classic that evolved from this (and is still on sale!) is the Ketelbinkie. For our 100th anniversary, we'll be unwrapping an anniversary edition. Are you the design talent of tomorrow and have an awesome idea for an everyday problem?
