AN UNFOLDING JOURNEY - Desiging for Futures in Flux

Designing for Futures in Flux

Wearable Architecture

At the intersection of physical and mental flexibility, my latest project is an exploration in multifunctional, folding objects that are not only practical, but also designed to provoke reflection and conversation.

Wearable Architecture

How do we cope with the ever-increasing pace of change in the world?
How do we equip ourselves in an uncertain future?
What are our universal human needs?

Shifts in societal landscapes increasingly emphasise individualism and self-reliance. Not only are physical flexibility and mobility important, but mental agility is also playing an increasingly important role.
My research into adaptability resulted in wearable architecture: multifunctional, foldable shelters.

During DDW, I am showcasing three speculative designs: a jacket, pants and a bag that unfold to waterproof shelters. Come see, feel, and share your thoughts on mobility, recycling, how we can rethink clothing and how design can play a role in this.
