Through my ceramic sculptures, I give form to my inner world. Inspired by the regenerative power of corals and fungi, I create imaginative shapes with glow-in-the-dark details that make escapism and imagination tangible, inviting visitors into 'My World of Escapism'.
De Art of Escapism
Escapism and the longing for another world lie at the centre of my work. During a difficult period, I began to imagine a place filled with nature, free from worries. Something precious emerged from that challenging time: escapism became both an outlet and a source of strength for me. I came to see it as a restorative power of our minds. In today’s world, where we are constantly faced with complex problems, this mental escape feels more important than ever.
Living Sculptures
I draw inspiration from organisms that possess a similar regenerative ability, such as corals and fungi. Both are resilient, yet fragile. In an ideal world, corals and fungi could exist together in symbiosis, making them far less vulnerable. This concept forms the foundation of my sculptures. By studying their growth patterns, colors, and textures, I create intricate forms with subtle glow-in-the-dark accents that seem almost alive. In this way, I give tangible form to my inner world. Each piece has its own character and represents a fragment of 'My World of Escapism'. The sculptures invite viewers to come closer, discover details, and temporarily detach from reality.
