As founder, strategist and design researcher at Studio Ficklefish I signal an erosion in the ability to imagine. To imagine alternative ways of thinking, governing and living.
The power of Imagination
The drive for efficiency, data-driven optimization, and algorithmic predictability rewards what is measurable, not what is possible.
The constant stream of stimuli and information leaves little room for wonder or deep reflection. Fear and polarization stifle imagination. When public discourse collapses into right versus wrong, us versus them, the in-between space where new ideas can emerge disappears.
Institutional inertia reinforces this: education, governance, and media often train obedience and rationality rather than creativity or collective dreaming.
Without imagination, societies become reactive rather than visionary. At Studio Ficklefish, we seek to reignite this creativity and collective dreaming.
How?
