The Wuerstelhocker takes the most recognizable elements of a sausage stand and gives them a new role. A bright red sausage becomes the seat, a wooden fork forms the base, and abstracted grill tongs become the legs. The stools can be easily stored and nested together like a pack of sausages, creating a bold and playful presence while making the connection between food and furniture impossible to miss. The idea started with Vienna’s Wuerstelstand, a place where food and everyday social life naturally meet.
