One of the best ways for international knowledge workers and their families to settle quickly and easily into life in the Netherlands is to learn the language. However, this is not always easy to do. Our range of cheat-sheet items can help.
Lowering the barrier to learn Dutch
People are often afraid of mispronouncing something, and the Dutch tend to switch to English. The Holland Expat Center South (HECS) therefore has a range of initiatives, information, and tips to help internationals on their way. In a collaboration between the Holland Expat Center South and design studio Spiekkleding, a range of cheat-sheet items were developed which remind learners of key phases, such as umbrellas, board games, scarves, and bags. These products help lower the barrier to speaking Dutch.
