Egglamp x Ayano Koda

Made from real eggs

Egglamp is a fun lightbulb made from real eggs. We handmade them at our studio in Amsterdam. We could not do it without the chickens. This year we present a very special egg, that has been broken into a thousand pieces. A collaboration with Japanese artist and designer Ayano Koda.

EggboxLAMP

When we launched the Egglamp two years ago at DDW, a lot of people asked us: "Where do I put it". The answer we have designed is the EggboxLAMP, which looks just like a real egg carton but is made from 1kg of cement. It comes in 5 different colors and created a nice base for both Egglamp White and Egglamp Brown.

B-Eggs

While working on this project we discovered the 'B-Egg'. And egg which is not sold at the supermarket because it is considered 'too ugly' for consumers. We think they are beautiful and have made a special version out of it. If you have never seen it before, come to out booth to eggsplore and discover.

What about the insides of the eggs?

We have been making some nice connection over the past years. From chicken farmers to local bakeries to try and close as many loops as possible. The eggs we use are mostly organic and from local farms. And the insides are used by small bakeries in Amsterdam to make nice things out of.
