Designer Carina Riezebos, in collaboration with Belgian company Saido, presents a new application for post-consumer glass by incorporating it into mineral composites as an alternative to traditional production and recycling methods.

Material Innovation

Designer Carina Riezebos, in collaboration with the Belgian company Saido, explores a new approach to circular material development by transforming post-consumer glass and innovative mineral composites. Building on extensive expertise in blown glass and material craftsmanship, the project combines recycled glass with complementary materials, including textiles, to create sustainable composites with distinctive aesthetic and functional qualities. Rather than focusing solely on recycling, the research investigates an alternative production method that redefines glass waste as a valuable resource for future applications in design, architecture and interior architecture.
