Studio Coming Soon transforms discarded textiles into handcrafted interior objects. Using natural dyes and artisanal techniques, Piece by Piece explores how discarded materials can be given a new life — and, through design, acquire new value.

From textile waste…

With Piece by Piece, Studio Coming Soon aims to show that leftover materials do not have to mark the end of a product’s life, but can instead be the beginning of something new. The textile industry is one of the world’s most polluting industries, with large quantities of high-quality materials going to waste. At the same time, traditional craft techniques and the appreciation for handmade work are increasingly fading into the background.

Driven by a love of textiles, craftsmanship and interiors, Studio Coming Soon explores how these material waste streams can be given new meaning. Through natural dyeing processes, handcraft and careful use of materials, discarded textile remnants are transformed into interior objects that are both functional and aesthetically valuable.

… to designed space

Piece by Piece is rooted in circular design, sustainability, craftsmanship, material awareness and a connection to natural processes. Instead of using new raw materials, Studio Coming Soon works with existing materials and natural dyes. This creates an alternative approach to interior design in which the value of the material and the making process take centre stage.

The project demonstrates that a sustainable future is not only about consuming less, but also about looking differently at the materials we already have. By giving discarded textiles new life and value, Piece by Piece, an interior emerges where beauty, craftsmanship and circularity come together.

About Studio Coming Soon

We are Studio Coming Soon, founded by Arriënne Boon and Leon Kingma. With our background in fashion came a deep appreciation for textiles and craftsmanship, as well as an awareness of how much valuable material goes to waste. This inspired us to explore the potential of discarded textiles and develop a new way of working. Our focus shifted from the body to the space around us. Thus, Studio Coming Soon was born, transforming textile waste into tactile interior objects.
