To what came first

What about the second graduation project?

To What Came First - DDW26 edition — © Valerio Arsenio, Franz Maria Frei

The Design Academy graduation show presents only one of the two BA graduation projects. To What Came First is an exhibition presented by Blind Spot, a collective of Design Academy Eindhoven 2026 graduates who want to shed light on the unseen project.

An amalgamation of profiles, materials and techniques

One of the unique aspects of the bachelor’s degree at Design Academy Eindhoven is that the students graduate with 2 projects. Despite developing two fully fledged bodies of work in the graduation semester, only one of them ends up being exhibited at the graduation show that takes place at Microstad during Dutch Design Week.

To What Came First is an ode to the unseen graduation works. The exhibition is curated by the graduates themselves.

About Blind spot

The Blindspot Collective is a group of recent graduates from the Design Academy Eindhoven bachelor program. We are friends and colleagues who decided to come together to host an exhibition in parallel to the graduation show we are also taking part in. Our work is diverse, spanning through various mediums and crafts like glass, metal, wood, leather, ceramics, and moving image.
