Beyond wood: carbon-negative hemp meeting furniture balancing nature, inclusive sensory design, and human connection.

ReHemptation Vision

The CO2Balance collection embodies the core mission of ReHemptation: to lead the transition toward truly carbon-negative, tree-free meeting spaces. By rethinking how public and corporate environments are furnished, ReHemptation utilizes Strumber—an advanced hemp biocomposite—to actively sequester carbon and eliminate reliance on timber and fossil-based plastics. The project bridges environmental decarbonization with social responsibility, crafting inclusive furniture that fosters human connection, sensory accessibility, and natural harmony.

Research & Inclusion

Addressing today's urgent ecological and social challenges requires an R&D-driven methodology focused on systemic change. Grounded in material research aligned with IPK guidelines, CO2Balance merges sustainable engineering with universal design principles. The collection addresses human sensory needs through tactile 45-degree chamfers, shadow-edges, and non-glare surfaces for visually impaired users, alongside sound-absorbing hemp fibers and elastomeric isolators that optimize acoustic clarity for hearing aid users.

Circular Connection

Engineered for complete disassembly and end-of-life circularity, the CO2Balance collection seamlessly bridges ecological responsibility with human ergonomics. By combining carbon-storing materials with sensory accessibility, ReHemptation demonstrates how modern meeting environments can actively drive corporate decarbonization goals while fostering warm, healthy, and welcoming spaces where every individual can fully engage and connect.
