We collect diverse local materials from Taiwan to propose new solutions.
Beyond disposable materials, waste can be transformed into resources for mass production.
This expands design possibilities and drives sustainable innovation.
re-ing|Future rPET Bag:Designing Tomorrow with One Material
What if the future of design meant making less — but making better?
In a time when circularity is no longer optional, re-ing redefines how material, form, and function converge in daily products.
The PET Embossed Bag Collection is made entirely from a single recycled material — PET — including the fabric, button, and thread. This radical commitment to mono-materiality ensures true recyclability, while its undyed, unprinted surface lets the essence of recycled material speak for itself.
Through pleated surface engineering, visual richness is achieved without adding ink, dye, or extra material. The result: a bag that folds like paper, weighs like air, and acts like a statement — quietly futuristic, intentionally essential.
RE:TWIST | Circular Spin Project:Ocean Waste Material Lucky Cat
Every year, over 8 million tons of plastic waste flow into the ocean, posing a severe threat to marine ecosystems. Located at the intersection of ocean currents, Taiwan easily accumulates marine debris, especially EPS styrofoam commonly used in fisheries, which is highly polluting and difficult to recycle. The growing amount of discarded toys worldwide further worsens the environmental burden, highlighting the limitations of existing solutions.
RE:TWIST proposes a brand-new circular design system that redefines the value of ocean waste. Through design, we transform marine plastics into mass-producible products, combining sustainability with cultural storytelling to turn waste into an innovative material with market potential.
This project brings together 10 designers from Taiwan and Japan to create unique Lucky Cat figurines, each made in capsule-toy size for fun and sustainable collecting.
REVIVE | Creating a New Future with Zero-Plastic Materials
We have gathered a wide range of zero-plastic material products to showcase Taiwan’s diverse material possibilities to the world.
From chicken feathers and discarded bamboo to pineapple leaf fibers and recycled paper pulp, these resources can all serve as sustainable materials in product design.
They are not only environmentally friendly but also demonstrate the circular innovation of Taiwan’s local industries, shifting design away from single-use plastics toward new vocabularies built on natural and renewable resources.
Through this, we aim to foster more cross-industry collaborations and bring Taiwan’s material innovations onto the global stage as a driving force for sustainable design.
