Circular Wool – Robotufted Carpet

Transforming raw wool — once a byproduct of the food industry — into refined interior textiles through high-quality processes.

Circular Wool Robotuft reimagines local wool once treated as waste, transforming it into high-quality interior textiles. Through design innovation, textile research, and robotic tufting, the project explores new circular production models that unite craft, technology, and sustainability.

Rethinking Interior Textiles

Wool from local sheep is often overlooked by the textile industry and treated as a by-product of the food supply chain. Rustic Wool Robotuft transforms this undervalued material into a refined textile for interiors, demonstrating how design and technology can add worth where the market sees waste.

Through material research, textile consultancy, and industrial collaboration, Lottozero developed a complete process—from fibre preparation and spinning to dyeing and robotic tufting—creating a high-quality yarn suitable for durable, circular interior applications. Working with designer Margaux Minodier and manufacturer Casalis, the project merges local material knowledge with advanced production methods to achieve both aesthetic precision and ecological responsibility.

The resulting pieces—modular carpets and wall hangings—embody the project’s central vision: transforming waste into value, reconnecting craft and technology, and shaping a new generation of circular interior textiles.
