In a pessimistic age of over abundance of energy, nonsensical production and new knowledge we still make a mess of it by starting brutal bronze age wars. Again we will go on an Odyssey, where we mix stone age technologies with high tech in order to enhance our existing community feelings..
Feelings en Method
The Apocalyps Hype is near, and it will be the ultimate challenge to become creative with left-over materials and discarded electronics, to keep up a scramble of positive attitudes, to alternate between illusions into disillusions, utopia and dystopia, to keep believing in a positive outcome.
Method and Materials:
Abandoned cardboard, felting, recycled fabrics, flint, copper and bronze tools next to microcontrollers, leds, displays.
Outfits on display
Redshift, a combination of felt and copper, isolation and conductivity, warm and cold.
Clochard, how many things we have to carry along, with many, many bags
Exoplanet, felted body, pointing to other worlds where we could (not) go to after polluting our world.
Gothic & Cardboard, the ultimate consequence of depletion of materials will be that only cardboard is left. Gothic windows.
Free!, outfit from Adaptable Geometries made from recycled fabric pentagons.
Goal of the Installation
Of course this is all about making and imagining. But why?
Maybe creativity will get rid of the warmongering dictators and we will arrive at peace with our fellow Earthlings and the Planet World.
