Visitors are invited to work side by side with a group of architecture students from the TU Delft and TH Köln. With this active participation of students and visitors the project encourages people to rethink how materials can be reused, repurposed, and brought back into the lifecycle of architecture

A stack of wood, carpentry joints, 30+ students and you bring the EduCrafting Pavilion to life.

Through this hands-on workshops, we will explore and apply circular building techniques — like modular components and traditional wood joinery. The project challenges participants to engage with materials and tools, to create more with fewer resources, and to emphasize the value of simplicity within a thoughtful design. We draw on the Timber Joinery Database, an open‑source platform documenting traditional and innovative timber joints, and the mobile-Building-Lab, a traveling workshop equipped for hands-on fabrication. Together they provide the knowledge, tools, and space that directly support the construction of the EduCrafing Pavilion during the Dutch Design Week.

Guided by a collective of experts from academia — TREE _Timber REengineered at the Faculty of Architecture TU Delft, and the Faculty of Architecture TH Köln — and from practice — Ssse and supercraft — you’ll discover how craftsmanship, bio-based materials, and digital tools come together to shape a sustainable design.

For those who would like to actively participate there are two daily introduction sessions. Join in, and receive a proper introduction to the necessary tools and techniques, and unlock a sens of craft.
