Man Made Landscapes

Man Made Landscapes explores the aesthetics and logic of miniature worlds by translating familiar infrastructural elements into human scale.

Strommast (Power Pole) â—¦ Florian Post

The project focuses on everyday structures that define our surroundings yet often go unnoticed. A streetlight, a wall, a power pole and a chimney. These elements regain function by enlarging, while preserving the precision and playful quality of miniatures.

The Objects

Wall

Type: Room Divider

Material: lacquered MDF
Dimensions: 101 x 14 x 57 cm

Info: The modular wall can be extended as desired by simply sliding the elements into one another, allowing new spaces to be created or existing ones to be divided with ease.

Streetlight

Type: Lamp

Material: varies
Dimensions: 197 x 40 x 50 cm

Info: Unlike conventional streetlights, this one lets us decide for ourselves when it is day or night. A foot switch replaces the timer, offering a sense of freedom within our self-designed environment.

Power Pole

Type: Power Distributor

Material: powder-coated aluminium

Dimensions: 100 x 46 x 46 cm
Info: This power pole operates at a user-friendly voltage of 230 volts.
When the power pole is plugged into a socket, it can be activated via the main switch.
The red indicator light shows that the circuit is closed and the outlets are live. Power can then be drawn from a total of four sockets for standard household devices.

Chimney

Type: Fire Pit

Material: coated stainless steel
Dimensions: 240 x 64 x 64 cm

Info: With this industrial chimney, we can decide for ourselves where it stands and when it emits smoke. At a height of 2.4 meters, it ensures that the smoke from the campfire does not blow into your face. This allows you to dedicate your full attention to the spectacle of the smoking mini chimney, or toasting marshmallows.
